Solution
Our solution: Supplementing Creatine with the dialysis fluid: Creatine is – after water – the second most common low molecular compound within the human body. Creatine , is an energy precursor compound, when added to the dialysis fluid – will diffuse back into the patient’s blood stream and from there will be resorbed by endogenous Creatine transporters, thus reaching the target organs and cells in the body to improve their energy state.
Creatine can be supplied as part of a dialysis kit, making clinical application easy and patient-friendly. By using a dry cartridge with Creatine, fluid is only added at the patient’s beside, leading to less transport costs and no formation of Creatinine, the break-down product of Creatine.
Two international patents have been granted to Crearene AG for dialysis solutions and kits containing a Creatine compound:
- Cell protection in dialysis patients by administration of a Creatine compound (PCT/EP2010/004458)
- Hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis solutions comprising one or more Creatine compounds (PCT/CH2010/000065)
